Booking Kathmandu to Auckland from New Zealand
This route is often bought by someone already in New Zealand for a family member who is still in Nepal, as well as by travellers heading back after a trip home. Either way, a consultant can arrange it from our Auckland office. We need the traveller’s name exactly as it appears on their passport, their dates, and any baggage they expect to carry. We explain the fare rules before you pay.
There is no direct flight, so the stopover and airline mix decide both the price and the journey time. A short connection gets the traveller here sooner. A longer one is often cheaper but adds hours to an already long trip. We lay these options out side by side.
Bringing family to New Zealand
If you are sponsoring parents or other relatives to visit New Zealand, check the visa requirements and timing with Immigration New Zealand first. Processing times vary, and some visas are decided only after you apply. If your plans might change, ask us about flexible fares before you buy a ticket that is hard to change.
- Confirm the visa or NZeTA position before you pay for a ticket that cannot be changed.
- Check the passport is valid for the whole stay.
- Tell us if the traveller needs special assistance, so we can ask the airline.
Returning after Dashain and Tihar
Flights from Nepal back to New Zealand tend to be busy in the weeks after the festivals, and again around the December holidays. If you know when the traveller must be back, ask early. If the return date is flexible, tell us the window.
Baggage and biosecurity
Allowances differ by airline and fare type, and every quote shows them. New Zealand has strict biosecurity rules: food, plants, seeds and animal products must be declared on arrival, and some items are not allowed in. Ask the traveller to read the rules on the Ministry for Primary Industries website before packing gifts and food.
Airlines on this route
Airlines commonly used between Nepal and New Zealand include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Emirates and Qatar Airways, usually combined with a connecting carrier. What is available changes by date, so we check them for you.
