Booking Delhi to Auckland from New Zealand
Most people booking this route are already in New Zealand and buying for someone in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana or Uttar Pradesh: parents coming for a long visit, relatives for a wedding or a new baby, or a family member returning after a trip home. Our Auckland office can arrange it, so you can talk it through with a person in your own time zone.
We need the traveller’s name exactly as it appears on their passport, their dates and how much baggage they expect to carry, and we explain the fare rules, including change and refund conditions, before you pay. If the traveller is older or has not flown long haul before, tell us. We can ask the airline about assistance and suggest a connection that is not too tight.
Visitor visas and timing
Indian passport holders generally need a New Zealand visitor visa before they fly, and processing times vary. Check Immigration New Zealand first, and if your plans might change, ask us about a flexible fare before you buy a ticket that is hard to change.
- Confirm the visa outcome before paying for a ticket that cannot be changed.
- Check the passport is valid for the whole stay.
- Ask about travel insurance for older travellers: most visitors are not entitled to publicly funded health care here.
Sweets, spices and New Zealand biosecurity
Many families pack mithai, pickles, ghee, spices, dried fruit and nuts as gifts. New Zealand’s biosecurity rules are strict: food, plants, seeds and animal products must be declared on arrival, some items are not allowed in at all, and failing to declare can mean a fine. Ask the traveller to read the Ministry for Primary Industries guidance before packing, and keep gifts in their original sealed packaging where possible.
Connecting to Delhi from elsewhere in north India
Relatives in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand often reach Delhi by domestic flight, train or road first. Leave generous time between a domestic arrival and the international departure, or ask us to price the domestic leg on the same ticket so the airline looks after the connection if something runs late.
Airlines on this route
Airlines commonly used between India and New Zealand include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qantas and China Southern, usually combined with a connecting carrier. What is available changes by date, so we check them for you.
