Amritsar or Delhi?
Amritsar is Punjab’s main international airport, so landing there can put you within a few hours’ drive of many Punjabi towns and cities instead of a long trip north from Delhi. The trade-off is that fewer airlines connect to Amritsar, so fares and layovers can be less flexible.
The right answer depends on your family’s town and your dates. We’ll quote Amritsar and Delhi together so you can compare the total cost and total travel time, not just the ticket price.
Festivals, weddings and long stays
Many Punjabi families time trips for Lohri in January, Vaisakhi in April, Diwali or the winter wedding season, and fares reflect that demand. If your dates are fixed, start early. If they’re flexible, tell us the window and we’ll show how it changes the price.
Staying for several weeks or months? Ask about one-way or open-return options and what each fare allows you to change.
Families, students and pilgrims
Whether you’re visiting parents, bringing children home for the holidays, studying or travelling to visit family and friends for a special occasion, tell us who is travelling. Infant and child fares, baggage for gifts and seating together all affect which option works best.
Airlines on this route
Itineraries to Amritsar are commonly built around Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways or Air India, usually combined with a connecting carrier or a domestic leg from Delhi. We compare what is flying on your dates.
