Why choose Mumbai
Mumbai is the natural entry point for Maharashtra and much of western India. From here it is a short domestic hop, or a road or rail journey, to Pune, Nashik, Goa and parts of Gujarat. If your family is in the west or south-west of India, Mumbai often puts you closer to home than flying into Delhi.
Not sure which city is better for you? Ask us to quote Mumbai and Delhi side by side. The cheaper gateway is not always the closer one once you add the onward leg.
Timing your trip
Demand rises around Diwali, over Christmas and New Year, and in New Zealand school holidays. Many families also time trips for Ganesh Chaturthi in late summer. Mumbai’s monsoon brings very heavy rain from roughly June to September, which can disrupt local travel, so tell us if that matters to your plans.
Flexible dates and groups
If you can move your departure by a few days, say so when you request a quote. Travelling as a family or with relatives for a wedding? We can check whether seats can be held together before you pay.
Airlines on this route
Airlines commonly used between New Zealand and Mumbai include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Qantas, usually with a connecting carrier. We compare what is flying on your dates.
