Flying to Bengaluru and Karnataka
Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore, is the main international gateway for Karnataka. If your family is in Mysuru, Mangaluru or Hubballi, ask us to price the domestic leg alongside the international flights, so one ticket covers the whole journey and the airline looks after a late connection.
Kempegowda International Airport is well north of the city centre. Traffic can make the transfer slow at busy hours, so build time in before a connection or a family event, and ask your relatives to plan the pick-up.
Ugadi, Dasara and Deepavali
Ugadi falls in March or April, Dasara, famously celebrated in Mysuru, in September or October, and Kannada Rajyotsava on 1 November. Deepavali and the winter wedding season add more demand. Fares typically rise at these times, so tell us your dates early, and your flexibility if you have any.
When the weather is kindest
Bengaluru is milder than many Indian cities for much of the year, with the main monsoon rains arriving from around June to September. That makes the cooler months a popular time for visits, which can push fares up, so ask us what a shoulder-season week does to the price.
Airlines on this route
Airlines commonly used between New Zealand and Bengaluru include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Gulf carriers, usually with a connecting carrier. Availability and value change by date, so we compare them for you.
